Biodegradable dishes made from natural leaves that decompose in only 28 days

A group of engineers from the Naresuan University in Thailand have developed disposable plates from tree leaves. Thanks to these initiative, the polystyrene foam from the standard one-use plates could be replaced without losing their quality and the amount of contaminant plastics will be significantly reduced.

According to Sitintip Tantanee professor of the Naresuan University and member of the team of engineers, there is not high environmental impact from this activity since to make the dishes no chemicals, not plastics are used and not a single is cut down, besides the final product is biodegradable and can be degraded only in 28 days.
