Some scientists from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science created a model in which they could identify simulate and follow the transportation pattern of floating marine debris.
Many of you may be thinking what is it helpful for but I believe this is good for many reasons. The first one is because in that way we can understand how garbage patches form in oceans around the world because actually this study, giving exact information on where these objects accumulated. Second of all because with this information, a better discerning in how to clean up the water from these objects could be done.
Lastly according to the researches, the model could be used to sea ice and pollution among other practical application, which may be useful and helpful to other areas of study.
